Family Service - Transfiguration
Something I got from a book and would love to use at our church.
Intercessions
Place a large candle in front of the altar, this will represent the Light of Christ. Invite the people to come and light a small candle from this large one and place in a candle stand or pot with sand in it in the four corners of the church where people can see them. Reflect on how we carry the Light of Christ within us and are called, collectively, to reflect God's Light in the world.
Creator God, may we shine with your light.
Strengthen us by your Spirit and fill us with your transforming love.
......
Holy God, holy and strong;
May we reflect your glory.
Father, lead your Church to show your face to the world.
Help your children to walk in your ways of sacrificial love.
......
Holy God, holy and strong;
May we reflect your glory.
Father, shed your transforming light where there is darkness of intolerance and injustivce.
Strengthen the work of those who reconcile with your power to change and save.
......
Holy God, holy and strong;
May we reflect your glory.
Father, be with us in the places where we live.
Bring to our living your likeness and peace.
......
Holy God, holy and strong;
May we reflect your glory.
Father, send your healing light on all those who suffer.
Transform their anxiety and sorrow through your joy and hope.
......
Holy God, holy and strong;
May we reflect your glory.
Father, we remember all those who have died.
May we, like them, share in your eternal glory.
......
Holy God, holy and strong;
May we reflect your glory.

ba ck to life, back to reality
back to the here and now...
Kids loving it back at school - football and table tennis after school clubs.
So much work around the house - the holiday definately over.
Still - lets see how we get on.
On the bright side, an excellent ordination at the w/e, lovely to see so many friends, new car drove well too, so did H in some horrendous terrential rain.
